If a Hired Hand picks it up, the only way to get it back from him without destroying it is to pick up the Hired Hand, run against a wall, and then place the Hired Hand on the ground in the corner where you were running. It is incredibly fragile and will break if it is knocked out of your hand. > A word of caution on the actual eggplant item. Take the eggplant and put it on the grey and purple altar and this will open the entrance to the Eggplant Child. This will sacrifice the present and an eggplant will take its place. Either buy the present from the shop or steal it and then place the present on the kali alter. > Another quick way but rare find is to find a shopkeep that is selling a present and there is a kali alter on the same 5-1 level. Walk inside the treasure room and bomb the walls that are closest to the Eggplant Child and then teleport to it and pick up the Eggplant Child to get the acheivement. Bomb down to where the shopkeep is (the one you can see in the walls holding a shotgun) until he is either dead or has left the area. You also need to have a shopkeep guarding treasure close by to where the Eggplant Child, hopefully to the right or left of it. What you're looking for is a shop with a teleporter in it, either a handheld or a telepack. He is sleeping in a cave that is next to a grey altar with some purple stuff on top of it. Take the shortcut to 5-1, the ice caves, this is where the Eggplant Child is. First, you need to unlock all of the shortcuts. The right way and the achievement hunter way. Dunno what the safe spot is though. There are two ways to do this. That could work too if you hate fighting Tusk's bodyguard. Keys don't try to kill themselves or wriggle themselves out from your grip to land in some spike pit or worse.Įdit: Though i heard others just whipped/bombed the fish from a cheesy safe spot. Took a few tries but it got me the shortcut. As long as the suicidal helper is alive, he gets brought along when you exit, so leave him be and pray. Use that shotgun to clear the area and the path to the exit. With some luck he'll stay put, aparrantly you need to clear out nearby enemies or he'll wake up and get himself killed fighting them. (Ideally also clear the other fish beforehand so he won't become fish food.)Ĥ> Pick up and gently drop your hired help to take a nap. Though after like 3 blasts to the face it might die, so from there on, aim low so you don't also blast the hired help that spawns from the fish as he swims up immediately. This won't anger regular shopkeepers.ģ> Get to the level with the giant fish, and start blastin'. My own improvised take on the situation was.ġ> Start at Olmec shortcut to begin at Tidepool level 1.Ģ> Rope security guy at Tusk's gambling stall (easy & safe way to stun him), use the pole to your advantadge to jump on either of them and eventually get the shotgun. I love the game like everyone else, but **** me sideways with a broom I'm at my wits end, Derek! Carrying him through the level dealing with this "wriggling" makes me want to chew gravel and broken glass.ĭoes anyone have any tips on stained glass flavors keeping this suicidal maniac alive? I've tried trapping him in inescapable situations, only to have him teleport to me later (into sure death). I don't want my precious bald man-baby leaping from my sweaty arms into sure death every 6 seconds. Whether it's homing in on the nearest spikes or the closest bear trap, or hitting a 10-point dive into the hot rock soup at 4-3, they're dead far before I get a chance to do the deed myself. They are, impressively, efficient at killing themselves. What makes it a truly hellish labor is the damn AI, these Hired Hands run and jump around like a cat on cocaine chasing a mouse. I haven't been this furious and frustrated in any game in recent memory. I've been attempting to finish out the third shortcut with the Old Bitey Hired Hand method.
